Thanks to All

We at The Beacon would like to thank the Special Committee set up as a result of the March 14 Special Meeting called by the First Selectman and the Recreation Committee. 

We believe that the solution represents the wishes of the majority of the residents of New Hartford, and demonstrates the willingness of football to work with the neighbors so that there is as little disturbance as possible.  We are thankful for the support shown for the values that make New Hartford such a great place to live.

Those are the ideals that made many of the young people who are my daughters’ friends decide to come back to raise their families here.   

I want to thank the other residents, who were very supportive of keeping the Brodie Park South open to everyone.   It is a beautiful resource and there is plenty of room.

I especially want to thank all of the representatives of all of New Hartford’s Youth Sports leagues and teams.   They put in so much time running leagues, doing paperwork, coaching kids, running snack bars and fundraising.   We appreciate them also coming out to support football.

We want to reaffirm our commitment to covering, fighting for and encouraging Youth Sports in whatever form they may take.  If our children are active children, they will be active, engaged adults; the entire community will benefit.
