These Rose-breasted Grosbeaks just loved posing today. Mom has about five males who visit regularly.
Top one looks a little immature. Maybe a young guy. The one on the feeder below, was not 10 feet from us, and had no problem posing.

Is this a kind of woodpecker? I have a ton at my house but the look different.
It’s a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. They’re not woodpeckers. They eat seed, mostly. The males are georgeous. Females are not something you’d ever think you wanted a picture of. But they’re Moms! 🙂 Didn’t get a shot of one of one today, I was sitting too close when she showed up.
Lots of woodpeckers around. The one I posted yesterday was not a Hairy Woodpecker, it was a Yellow Bellied Sapsucker. He’s a migratory woodpecker, who is here now, but not normally during the summer or winter.
